  • New Year News!

Hello Everyone! I have some exciting news for the beginning of the year. I will be mainly working out of Optimum Training Centre Toronto starting today! OTC has a fantastic crew and an amazing facility. It is a personal training studio with an emphasis on excellence which I really appreciate. I am really looking forward to working with my clients there, old and new – if you are interested in training with me 1-on-1 please be advised my rates will be going up at the end of February. A promise was made and I will be more active on social media, so check out @coachklaud across all platforms for updates. I also promise to do an article or two this year. I have some in mind ....

  • How to achieve lasting results

We’ve all struggled with getting things done. This is a short article on how to create positive change in whatever you choose. The key is simple really. Too simple. First, you have to find ONE thing that will bring you closer to your goal. Some examples are: eating more quality protein for weight loss, exercising 2x more a week to increase your fitness, or write an article to help more people achieve their goals. The next step is to put everything else aside. Work on your ONE action item. Implement it for at least two weeks to one month. Then add in another action item. The idea is to not overwhelm your already busy life with tons of changes. This simply doesn’t work. It may ....

  • The New Year Approaches!

Howdy all! Hope you’ve been keeping busy. I’ve got some exciting news to share: along with working out of Torque Barbell I am now also working at Avalon Fitness Club which is located at 800 Islington Avenue in the William F White building. Both gyms are fantastic environments but strongly contrast each other. I’m glad to offer training at both locations and I still do in-home training in Etobicoke (for now) As always, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Stay safe and remember your goals as you delve into the next week or so of celebration. If you keep your goals in mind, then it’s easy to stay on track. My goal is to keep plugging away at ....

  • Phew! What an intense 2 weeks!

So now I’m officially done my CHEK Practitioner Level 1 Course and have passed my exam. This part of my journey is complete! I’ve been working towards this certification since February 2016 and I’m glad it’s done! The assessments and tests we learned in this course help make me a better coach, which is always the goal. We had a fantastic group and it looks like Chek Practitioner Level 2 is on the horizon in mid-2017! Right before the final portion of Chek Practitioner Level 1 began, I decided I wanted to get FMS certified. So that’s what I did. I got my level 1 and 2 within the same week. It was intense but the information contained within FMS 1+2 and CHEK ....

  • How the Supplement Industry is ruining your health and your wallet

Quick and easy fixes usually don’t work or have a massive downside. Today we start to explore the world of supplements/pills/powders/potions. Did you know that supplements at the most may give you a 5% performance boost or edge? And that’s only if you’re at an elite level? We have a very serious supplement addiction/dependence problem on our hands thanks to the greed of the supplement industry. Do you take pre-workout? Casein protein shakes? Carb-loaders? Nitric Oxide enhancers? Fat burners? If the answer is yes to one or more, you could be wasting a ton of money at the very least and at the worst, doing yourself some serious harm. In this article I’m going to ....

  • 4 Reasons why you’re not losing fat (and what to do about it) Part 2

We’ve gotten through the first two reasons, Sleep and Hormones. Let’s not waste any time and get through the final 2 reasons why that fat isn’t coming off as well as we’d like! Reason 3 – Movement/Exercise
Have you ever seen a fat mailman? I think we all have. These guys walk roughly 25 miles a day, so why is it that they don’t look like they ever get off of the couch? The answer is that their bodies adapt. Yes, they may get an initial boost in their physique when they start, but after a few months, it all goes south. This is what we personal trainers call lack of program variability. When a program stays too similar, for too long, your body will ....
